Welcome to volume 1 of our new monthly series on the filmography of director Tony Scott, UnSCOTTable!

Each month, we will discuss a movie in Tony Scott's filmography and this month, we are starting with his 1983 debut, the sexy and stylish vampire film, The Hunger! Host Matt Bledsoe is joined by his friend, and the host of the Schlock and Awe podcast, Lindsay Wilkins to talk about Scott's striking style being evident immediately, the wonderful cast, and how the film would impact and influence Tony Scott's career!

They talk about the terrific performance by Isabelle Fuhrman as Esther, the borderline black comedy of the movie, killer kid movies, and why Peter Sarsgaard might be one of the worst movie husbands ever.

They talk about what makes the movie special, how the film blends different genres, and of course, all things Nic Cage. They also talk about their favorite Nic Cage movies.

FF 18- When a Stranger Calls - 1979 & 2006 (w/Mark Wanner)

On this week's episode, host Matt Bledsoe is joined by friend of the show, Mark Wanner, to discuss the 1979 horror/thriller When a Stranger Calls, as well the 2006 remake, which came out 15 years ago this week! Matt and Mark discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each version, and Mark explains why he's a fan of the remake and why he thinks it's better than most people give it credit for. They also talk about the 1993, made for tv movie, When a Stranger Calls Back.

Matt and Mark also discuss what they've seen lately, including The Empty Man, The Midnight Sky, Destroyer, The Little Things, and Synchronic.

 

 

FF 17 - The Great Movie Swap! (w/ Anthony King!)

On this week's episode, host Matt Bledsoe welcomes Anthony King (host of the Cult movies podcast and contributor for F This Movie!) to the show for what we're calling the Great Movie Swap! Matt and Anthony each gave each other 3 random movies to watch, and then they each had to pair those movies up to make double features! It's a lot of fun and there are alot of really great and interesting movies discussed on this episode!

On this week's episode, host Matt Bledsoe is joined by his friend, Ken Walker, to discuss Tim Burton's 1994 film, Ed Wood! They discuss the terrific cast, Burton's direction, the work of the actual Ed Wood, and much more!
